Ingredients

  • cups All-purpose flour
  • cups Warm water (110°F)
  • tsp Active dry yeast
  • tsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Wooden spoon or stand mixer
  • Plastic wrap or towel
  • Baking sheet or pizza stone

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon or dough hook. Add olive oil and mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead by hand or stand mixer for 7–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down, divide if needed, and shape into desired crust thickness.
  6. Preheat oven to 475°F. Place dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Add toppings and bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crisp.

Notes

  • For extra chew, substitute bread flour instead of all-purpose.
  • Dough can be refrigerated for 48 hours or frozen up to 3 months.
  • For a crispier crust, preheat the pizza stone for at least 30 minutes.
